The Dominican Republic is situated in the middle of the Carribean. The island, called Hispaniola, is shared with the republic of Haiti. The climate is tropical with little variation. Hurricanes do occur, most often between June and October. Here you find milelong beaches, coconut palms as far as you can see. more that 300 different types of orchids and a very varied nature. Here you meet friendliness and joy and the west Indians rythms are catching, such as the merengue. You can also enjoy a really good rum and a local cigar.
