Schwerin is situated in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, south-east of Lübeck. Within the city borders there are a number of lakes in a landscape of forests. About 20 kilometres south of the city International E-road network 26 passes, running between Hamburg and Berlin. The square with the old town hall, and the beautiful gable houses are perfect as a starting point for city tours. On these historic streets there are many small and large boutiques, street cafes and restaurants. A visit to the art museum, Staatliches Museum, is recommended.
