Fuengirola is in the middle of the Costa del Sol, in the province of Málaga, about 30 kilometres from the city of Málaga. Fuengirola, originally a small fishing village, is now almost completely constructed and built around tourism. The town has 7 kilometres of beaches, lined with and equally long boardwalk. The marina is in the middle of the town, with boats varying in size and performance. Sun worshippers, golfers, families and holidaying Spaniards travel here. Fuengirola is also a centre for the Swedish, Danish and Finnish population on Costa del Sol. Local transport is good, so it's easy to get to the party and nightlife in Torremolinos.
