New Orleans is the largest city in the state of Louisiana in USA. The city is situated by the Missisippi River and is partly under sea level as on the same level as the river. The city is protected from flooding by high dikes and powerful pumps. Here is the largest port in southern USA, Port of South Louisiana. It's the birthplace of jazz and there is a huge selection of entertainments and restaurants. Mardi Gras, an annual carnival held here is the biggest in the country.
