Falun is located in beautiful Dalarna and grew strong as a city with its copper mine. During its most successful years in the 17th century Falun was Sweden's second largest city. The river Faluån flows through the city with the mine on one side and the city on the other. The mine is listed on UNESCOS's list of world heritage. A visit to the home of painter Carl Larsson can't be missed.
