Skiathos is a popular tourist destination located in the northwestern part of the Aegean Sea. The Island has over 60 sandy beaches thanks to its indented coastline. The capital, Skiathos Town, was built in 1830 on two low hills on the southeastern tip of the Island. The seafront is lined with cafes and restaurants due to the marina.
