Ekman's Triptych - A Study of Entertainment
From colorful show to beautiful, poignant melancholy. When choreographer Alexander Ekman, commissioned by Cullberg Ballet, creates his first full-evening performance, his aim is to give the audience a superb evening full of surprises. Three compositions with different expressions and moods, all of which twist and turn the concept of entertainment. Dance is mixed with speech, the playful with the quiet, the simple sentence with the ambiguous. Can everything be entertainment?

Ekman is one of Sweden’s most sought after dance exports, acclaimed for his discerning work with a humorous twist. At 26 years of age, Ekman has had both a successful dance career and established himself internationally as a choreographer. This spring he was behind two successful and widely acclaimed world premieres at Nederlands Dans Theater and the Gothenburg Opera Ballet, prior to which he presented the world premiere of the dance film 40 M UNDER at Dansens Hus
