Stuttgart is the capital of state Baden-Württemberg in south-west Germany. The city is located in the so called "Stuttgart cauldron", the valleys of a number of streams and rivers, joining river Neckar. Stuttgart also has a port by river Neckar. During World War II Stuttgart was severly bombed. This has given the architecture in the city a modern touch. It is an important railway junction, and motorways pass the city, both north to south and east to west. Stuttgart is considered one of four car capitals in the world, with among others Porsche manufacturing.
